Did you know that AI is being used in product development for items like canned chu-hi and sauces? AI suggests new flavor recipes and streamlines prototyping.
For example, Sapporo Beer, in collaboration with Japan IBM, developed the "N-Wing★" AI system. It uses data from about 170 canned chu-hai products to instantly propose multiple recipes for new products, as seen in "Otokoume Sour" This innovative approach utilizes ingredients in new ways to enhance flavor.
On the other hand, Otafuku Sauce collaborated with IHI to develop an AI-based recipe search system. It utilizes a database of approximately 15,000 sauce recipes created over the past decade to instantly achieve desired flavors. This system aims to enable even less experienced individuals to reach their flavor goals quickly and reduce the number of trials and costs.
AI holds potential beyond fixed ideas about taste. Humans collaborate with AI to select recipes AI proposes, aiming for a harmonious development style. With AI as an ally, surprising flavors may emerge.
