The logistics industry is concerned about transportation capacity shortages due to tighter regulations on truck driver overtime.
The proposed amendment would require logistics operators and shippers to formulate plans to improve logistics efficiency, and the government would be able to issue recommendations, corrective orders, and fines in cases of inadequacy.
The purpose of the proposed amendment is to accelerate environmental improvements in the logistics industry by reducing the number of hours truck drivers are held back.
